Recent Question: how to activate backlight permanently ? if I plugged power source nothing changed, backlight goes off after 5 seconds , after pressing snooze ….
Recent Question: I have the same problem. There is nothing in the user manual about how to permanently turn on backlight. Please help.
I presume you have contacted iROX customer support about this issue? I will contact iROX myself and see what information I can find out to help with your issue.
Recent Question: Sure I did…
…and just got an answer today.
It seems to be a bug which was recently introduced and which the devices produced since then now have. They have a solution in the pipeline but the fixed devices will not be available before July. They just offered me to exchange the device when the new ones are available. Thus I propose to also personally contact them if you face the same problem.
Many backlit stations cannot stay lit, regardless of your desire to have them lit constantly. If there is no AC adapter and the unit only runs on batteries, it will NOT have an “always on” option.
If you do have an AC adapter and there’s nothing in the manual about an “always on” option, in 95% of instances there is no such option. If there is an AC adapter, be sure that the plug into the station is fully inserted/seated. In some cases, we have seen manufacturing flaws in the case molding that will not allow a full seating of the plug, thus disengaging the “always on” option IF it is built-in.
We never offered IROX for sale here. But we did have all of their Honeywell “identical twins.” Currently, I am unaware of any weather station in this price range and style that has an “always on” backlight. The Davis Vantage Vue 6250 professional home weather station is the first one going up the food chain in price that has an always on backlight option. And it is appropriate for desktop use. Please see the Vantage Vue 6250 and all other desktop and wall mount weather stations at our web site, http://www.WeatherBuffs.com.
