I bought/received the base and two transmitters one week ago. I read/followed the straight forward instructions and behold…it worked as advertised! The base unit allows you to select and cycle through which outdoor transmitter to view. Hint: You initialise transmitters in sequence (one must register, before you move on to the next): Label each transmitter before you begin to remember which outdoor transmitter is assigned to the displayed location.
My outdoor transmitters have to penetrate a screen and glass security door, a sliding glass door, two walls, and a washer and dryer. The base sits within two feet of a 40″ LCD TV, DVD, cable box and surround Amp system and associated speaker interference (all of these are caution area’s in the instructions). The total area from transmitters to base is within 100″. I only had rechargeable batteries so I plopped them in (another caution). I don’t know how long this combination will hold up but so far, the 9160U works without problems. I would and have recommended this product to others. If you Read/Follow the instructions you should be good…if you don’t, you’ll write a bad review!
